People First
The hardware matters because of what it does to people. Vehicles, weapons, machinery, and history are never substitutes for character.
A veteran-led, creator-owned graphic novel anthology built to entertain first — and to carry real military culture, history, technical knowledge, institutional behavior, humor, and emotional truth inside the adventure.
Authenticity is the unfair advantage.
The project’s creative group draws on Army, Marine Corps, reconnaissance, leadership, field, production, and storytelling experience. Veterans are part of the creative foundation, but The Sandbox is intended for a broad audience. Military readers should recognize the culture. Civilian readers should never feel trapped in a lecture.
The modern military lane is grounded and expressive; Interdit is ligne-claire derived; Tin Cans is goofy pulpy war caricature; Commander Vex is extravagant science fantasy. The style changes because the world changes.
The hardware matters because of what it does to people. Vehicles, weapons, machinery, and history are never substitutes for character.
Strong acting, readable geography, clear action, and real page-to-page storytelling matter more than isolated pin-up images.
Gear, field behavior, military culture, period equipment, and technical competence are treated as storytelling tools rather than decoration.
The anthology can be absurd, sexy, funny, violent, frightening, and heartfelt — but the joke should not erase the cost.
The working target remains Summer 2027. The website is part of the audience-building infrastructure alongside veteran and military media, conventions, comic shops, direct outreach, and later crowdfunding.
