THE SANDBOX · CONTEMPORARY A-STORIES

MODERN MILITARY

Two formations. Two cultures. One grounded visual lane. The stories follow the people inside the institution — combat, leadership, maintenance, boredom, mistakes, field improvisation, humor, and consequences.

U.S. ARMY INFANTRY

VIPER COMPANY

A dismounted Army platoon where NCO and officer relationships, personalities, equipment, competence, friction, field culture, mistakes, and humor matter as much as the firefight.

The Army side must feel distinctly Army — not Marine culture wearing a different uniform.
U.S. MARINE CORPS

ACES & EIGHTS

Light Armored Reconnaissance creates a different tactical and social world: mounted and dismounted operations, scouts, crews, maintenance, breakdowns, resupply, speed, firepower, cramped living, and Marine culture.

The LAV-25 matters because of what it does to the people around it. The story is about Marines rather than hardware.
PEOPLE FIRST

GROUNDED. EXPRESSIVE. HUMAN.

The modern military lane should be authentic without becoming photorealistic or stiff. Accurate uniforms, weapons, vehicles, radios, and kit matter. So do fatigue, humor, anger, fear, bad decisions, competence, affection, and the faces of people who have been living inside the problem.

Army and LAR share the same rendering family but not the same lived experience. The visual and story rhythm should make that distinction obvious.

Modern Military human faces and quiet field moment
Expressive faces, believable proportions, readable silhouettes, real gear.
